Starting from Cahors, various routes are available. You can either navigate towards Larnagol for a cruise on the most pictureques waterway of France. Tou can also head to Luzech for a great experience in the heart of the Lot. This is where we are taking you.

Let’s go for 35km of waterways. In this area, start your cruise from 3 bases : Cahors, Douelle or Luzech. Here are some of the cities and towns you will get to discover while navigating. There is a towpath all along the river so do not forget your bike!

Navigation conditions for renting a boat without a licence on the Lot towards Luzech

The Lot is a river that will take you navigating through a fascinating valley. Your cruise will be ponctuated by manual locks without lock keeper, that you will have to operate yourself. That is why this cruise if recommended for people who already have experience. You can start your cruise from Luzech, Douelle or Cahors. Before boarding, you will receive a 1h training to get familiar with the navigation and the boat.

5 possible starting bases

The locks are manual but they are easy to operate.

If the Lot is in spate, we may have to transfer your cruise to another departure base. We do not recommend the Lot for a first boating holiday.

It is important you only moor in the designated places.

"Navigating around locks and pontoons can sometimes be difficult and counterintuitive when you only have landmarks such as cars or motorcycles to guide you, but it's interesting. Perhaps there should be a few more pontoons along the Lot."

Listed as a city of Art and History, Cahors is a must-see. Leave your boat behind to visit the Pont Valentré, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the city's landmark! The Saint-Etienne cathedral, the Jean XXII palace and the Chartreux fountain are also worth seeing. This city is very lively in summer (concerts, blues festival, ...).

For your sporty holidays, head to the watersport base of Pradines, near Douelle : water skiing, canoe rental, paddle, the choise is yours!

Douelle

This village, with a long boating tradition, was originally known for its barrel factories. Today the most remarkable monuments are the suspension bridge and the gothic church.

 

Caillac

Caillac

This river cruise will with no doubt satisfy fine wine lovers. The Lot is located in a Protected Designatioln of Origin : you will be able to visit local vinyards, some of them really close from the river. In Caillac, discover the vinyard Lagrézette which spreads around the beautiful castle from the XVth century. You can visit the winery and make a tasting.

Luzech

This little town is a departure base for a ccruise on the lot West. A citadel was built in Luzech during the middle age. Nowadays, only the square donjon still remains. It is opened for visits.
