Day 1

Luzech

In the Middle Ages a citadel was built at Luzech, and all that remains today is the square keep.

Douelle

This village, with its stong boating tradition, was originally known for its barrel factories. Today the most noteworthy landmarks are its suspension bridge and gothic church.

Caillac

The vineyards of Lagézette spread out around a wonderfully beautiful 15th century castle, listed as an Historical Monument. Here you have the chance to visit the wine cellar and sample the vintages of the estate.

You won’t be able to miss the magnificent Château de Mercuès. We recommend the Terre Blanc Circuit, a 5.7 km loop that will take you along the ridges overlooking the village and Château de Mercuès. Take the opportunity to join a tasting workshop with a sommelier inside the castle grounds.

Stop by Pradines, a village perched on the cliffs overlooking the Lot River. This charming, history-rich village surrounded by lush forest is home to many small churches to explore.

Cahors

Laroque-Des-Arcs

Founded in the 12th century, Laroque-des-Arcs, inhabited since Roman times, was established to protect the "arches" that carried water from the valley to the baths of Cahors. The remains of this Roman aqueduct are still visible at Pech de Clary (right bank), along with the ruins of the toll tower, which allowed local lords to collect fees from travelers using the river.

The Castle of the English

Looking closely at the cliffs, you can see the "Castle of the English," an 11th-century fortress carved into the limestone rock to protect villagers in case of attack. A little further up, perched on the heights, you will spot the Chapel of St. Roch.

A 15-minute walk west of Vers, explore the Chapel of Velles, a place where boatmen would stop to pray to the Virgin before their expeditions.

Saint Géry‑Vers

At the foot of the limestone cliffs of the Lot, Vers offers an authentic experience blending gastronomy, heritage, and wild nature.
