The Canal de la Marne au Rhin - Towards Strasbourg

Niderviller

Make sure you spend some time in this charming village. With its 17th century earthenware factory, its castle, its church and its magnificent organ, this village is very welcoming.

Sarrebourg Location bateau sur le Canal de la Marne au Rhin - Ville de Sarrebourg

Six kilometres away from the canal, Sarrebourg is also worth visiting especially to see the 13th century chapel with its 12 m high stained glass window designed by Chagall. Between the chapels, churches and temples, Sarrebourg hosts numerous religious buildings to visit!

Arzviller

The inclined slope of Arzviller is one of the most remarkable river constructions, unique in Europe. Built in 1969, this boat lift replaces 17 locks and enables to cross over a 44 metres height difference.

Lutzelbourg

In this beautiful little village, do not miss the chance to visit the crystal workshop.

Saverne

When you arrive in Saverne, the canal goes around the 18th century neo-classical Rohan Castle. Take the time to admire it from every angle. Then, you can moor your boat and go for a walk through the Rose Garden and the pedestrian streets. Whilst your stopover in Saverne, do not miss either the Château du Haut-Barr. This castle is also called "the eye of Alsace" for the spectacular view it offers over the Alsace plain and the Vosges.

Boofzheim

The port is on the banks of the Marne to Rhine Canal, 1 km away from the village. It is the ideal starting point for those who want to visit Strasbourg for a short stay (weekend, mini-week). The pier is located close to the vineyards of Alsace. For one week boating holidays, you can also choose a one way cruise Boofzheim - Hesse.
