SELF DRIVE RIVER BOAT RENTALS FROM Douelle
Its port dating from the 19th century is a starting point on the Lot for visiting the surrounding vineyards. The wall of Douelle, artistic fresco, painted on the quays, traces the history of the wine of Cahors.
The locks are manual but they are easy to operate.
If the Lot is in spate, we may have to transfer your cruise to another departure base. We do not recommend the Lot for a first boating holiday.
It is important you only moor in the designated places.
- Supermarkets area in Pradines at 8 km, all types of shops and hypermarkets.
- Mooring: No wild mooring on the Lot, dock the boat on the wharves provided for this purpose. The wharfs are free except for water and electricity in some places. The pumping is to be done every two to three days and is the responsibility of the customer (about 16 €).
- Train Station Cahors 15km
- Car: Arriving from the South - Leave the motorway at exit 58, Cahors Sud. Then take the N820 towards from Cahors / Villeneuve sur Lot for 18km. At Mac Donald's roundabout, turn right towards of Bergerac D811. Take the D911 for 5 km. At the traffic lights of Mercuès, turn left towards Douelle. Our base is 4 km away. Arriving from the North - Leave the motorway at exit 57 Cahors Nord / Villeneuve sur Lot and continue during 10 km. At the Mac Donald's roundabout, turn right towards Mercuès. Take the D911 on 5 km. At the traffic lights of Mercuès, turn left towards Douelle. Our base is 4km.
