Navigation conditions for renting a licence-free boat in the Venice Lagoon
Navigation in the Venetian Lagoon can sometimes be crowded with boats, so experience in river cruising is recommended. The Friuli region is much less crowded, this area is more suitable for beginners. All locks and movable bridges in and around the lagoon are automatic. Please note that you should only cast off in the areas designated for this purpose. A supplement will be charged at the time of booking to cover the cost of mooring in Mazzorbo, Vignole and Chioggia. Please note that navigation in Venice is not allowed, but there are many moorings close by, so you can use the vaporetto to access the centre of Venice. You can start your cruise in Italy in Casale, Chioggia and Precenicco. Before leaving your home base, you will receive a short one-hour training session to familiarise you with your licence-free boat and to learn about navigation and lock passages.
