This region, located at the crossroads of Europe has many strengths. From Strasbourg to Toul, through Sarreguemines on the Canal of the Sarre, the waterway network in Alsace stretches over 300 km. This area is renowned for its white wines, beers and cuisine. On the Marne to Rhin Canal, you will take in river boat one of the most impressive river works in Europe: the inclined plane of Arzviller.
The locks are automatic on the Marne-Rhine Canal and the Rhone-Rhine Canal. They are closed on some bank holidays. Locks are manual on the Canal de la Sarre.
Navigation on this region’s waterways is quite easy and perfect for your first experience of boating.
You can moor wherever you want on the canals, even in the heart of the countryside.
