SELF DRIVE RIVER BOAT RENTALS FROM St Jean de Losne
Saint Jean de Losne and the first fluvial port of France. You will be able to visit the Museum of the Batellerie. This base is the starting point of river cruises one way on the Saône to Fontenoy Castle or Branges.
The locks are automatic or electric, most of them manned by lock keepers. Most locks are closed on 1st May and 1st November (and on 14th July on the Yonne river and the canal de Bourgogne).
Recommended experience for navigation on the Doubs.
The Saône and Seille rivers are ideal for a first river cruise.
Until April 2027: navigation closed on the Canal de Bourgogne between Saint Jean de Losne and Pouilly en Auxois.
Between Saint Jean de Losne and Mâcon, docking at a pontoon or in a mandatory port. Otherwise you can moor on the banks, in the countryside.
- You will find all traditional shops and services in St Jean de Losne, about 500m from the base.

- It is possible to buy a fishing card at "Côté Jardin", valid for the duration of the cruise (2 consecutive weeks maximum). It is available from June to the end of August.
- From 5.00 € to 20 € for 1 night depending on the length of the boat. If you sail to the North the taxes will be less important. If you sail to the South it will be more expensive. Rates may change.
