SELF DRIVE RIVER BOAT RENTALS FROM Branges
This base located in the Burgundy Bresse is very close to Louhans. It is the starting point for a cruise on the Seille and for one week or more, you can sail on the Saone. The village butchery offers you the veal head prepared (specialty of the region), not to be missed.
The locks are automatic or electric, most of them manned by lock keepers. The locks close the 1st may and the 14th july. Except on the Canal du Center where some are manual.
Recommended experience for navigation on the Doubs.
Between Saint Jean de Losne and Mâcon, docking at a pontoon or in a mandatory port. Otherwise you can moor on the banks, in the countryside.
- Branges promises you exciting days with its many parties and events often organized near the port. Throughout the year, some evenings, the streets are closed to traffic to allow terraced restaurants and local artists to exhibit their creations.
- The locks are manual on the Seille, so they are open on public holidays.

- In Louhans (4 km from the base): you will find a wider choice of shops, not forgetting its famous Monday market!
