SELF DRIVE RIVER BOAT RENTALS FROM Trèbes
In a pretty little village, the base is located close to shops. It is the starting point for one-way river cruises on the Canal du Midi to Narbonne.
The locks are automatic or electric and manned by lock keepers. The locks are closed the 1st of may .
The ladder of locks at Fonsérannes (near Béziers) is very busy during the high season. Frontignan Bridge opens twice a day, in the morning and mid-afternoon.
The one-way or the navigation towards the Carmargue while crossing the Etang de Thau can be canceled or interrupted if the climatic conditions, in particular the wind, do not allow to pass the Etang de Thau. This does not prevent you from sailing while waiting for the reopening of the pond to navigation.
You can moor anywhere along the banks on the Canal du Midi and in the Camargue.
- There are 2 supermarkets about 1 Km from the base (Super U and Intermarché)
- Fishing is allowed but a fishing license is required. A "vacation" permit can be obtained between June and September at a local tobacconist or newsagent. It is valid for two weeks and its approximate cost is 30 €.
- Mooring fees are charged in all Private Ports. From 5 to 15 € per night. Rates may change

- From Paris, take the N20 towards Toulouse. Take the A61 motorway towards Carcassonne. Exit at Carcassonne East and follow the direction of Trèbes center. Cross the Aude bridge, continue on the Canal bridge and cross it. The boat base is 50 m to the right.
