SELF DRIVE RIVER BOAT RENTALS FROM Carnon
A real seaside resort with beaches and marina of the Camargue. Before leaving for your cruise, do not hesitate to spend half a day to visit the surroundings. Carnon is the starting point for a one-week one-way cruise to Homps or Agde.
The locks are automatic or electric and manned by lock keepers. The locks are closed the 1st of may .
The ladder of locks at Fonsérannes (near Béziers) is very busy during the high season. Frontignan Bridge opens twice a day, in the morning and mid-afternoon.
The one-way or the navigation towards the Carmargue while crossing the Etang de Thau can be canceled or interrupted if the climatic conditions, in particular the wind, do not allow to pass the Etang de Thau. This does not prevent you from sailing while waiting for the reopening of the pond to navigation.
You can moor anywhere along the banks on the Canal du Midi and in the Camargue.

- Road: Access from Montpellier: Highway A9 take exit 29. At the roundabout, take the 4th exit towards: Nîmes-Alès-Montpellier - Mediterranean Airport- La Grande-Motte-Carnon- Parc des Expositions. Continue on: D66 towards: La Grande-Motte - Carnon- Mediterranean Airport - Parc des Expositions - Park & ??Suites Arena. Take the exit towards: D62E2 / Carnon-Center / Carnon-Est / Les Plages then, at the traffic lights, the entrance to the base is located 300 m after, on the right of the D62.
- Train: Montpellier station at 15 km
- Airport: Montpellier Méditerranée (7 km).
