SELF DRIVE RIVER BOAT RENTALS FROM Digoin
Before leaving, do not hesitate to make a stop at the observatory of the Loire, it is really worth a look. Digoin is the starting point for one-way cruises to Chatillon-En-Bazois on the Nivernais Canal, you will also have the opportunity in one week to go to Roanne on the Roanne Canal in Digoin.
The locks are automatic or electric and most are manned by lock keepers, except on the Canal du Nivernais and the Canal du Centre where some are manual. The locks are closed the 1st of May and the 1st of November.
During the season locks are open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and are closed for lunch between 12:00-13:00 (1:00 p.m.).
On the Canal du Nivernais, there is a ladder of 16 consecutive locks: l'échelle de Sardy.
Between Saint Jean de Losne and Mâcon, you must only stop at designated moorings, elsewhere you can moor anywhere along the banks in the heart of the countryside.

- Road: Direction Digoin Center, follow the indications: "Marina - Right Bank", after the bridge, at the traffic lights, turn right immediately.
- Train: Digoin 100 meters from the base, T.G.V Le Creusot, then shuttle bus to Paray le Monial (13 km)
- Air: Lyon - St Exupéry Airport www.lyon.aeroport.fr (170 km)
