What extras and options to choose for the perfect river cruise

The list of possible extras and options

We've put together a list of the main extras available on almost all charter bases, so all you have to do is make your choice!

Bicycles

Bicycles are very practical for doing a bit of shopping or sightseeing during your stopovers, but you should be aware that most of the things you can do are accessible on foot. In most destinations, you'll find a towpath that follows the canal or river, ideal for an easy ride. To avoid taking up too much space on the outside of your boat, we recommend that you hire a number of bikes that is less than or equal to half the boat's capacity. To put it simply, for an 8-seater boat, for example, we recommend that you don't take more than 4 bikes on board. You can hire bikes directly from the departure base or bring your own.

Housekeeping package

This is an extra that we recommend if you don't want to clean the boat at the end of your stay. Otherwise, all you have to do is sweep and mop the deck. We advise you to book this package before your departure for greater convenience.

Parking

Most of our bases have an enclosed pay car park, but you can also park your vehicle free of charge in the public space. Book your parking space now to guarantee availability.

Plancha and gas barbecue

Are you a fan of barbecuing in fine weather? Book a gas barbecue/plancha - they're available at almost every base. If you opt for a boat in the Premium range, there's no need to reserve one, as the boats are already equipped with them.

Deposit buy-back or cruise plus insurance

Want to enjoy a stress-free cruise? Opt for this extra! It will reduce your liability in the event of damage to the boat. The deposit buy-back considerably reduces the amount of the deposit to be lodged on the day of departure. Cruise Plus insurance reimburses all or part of the deposit collected by the base in the event of damage. The options available depend on the departure base for your cruise.

The different Packs

There are 4 types of option packs that you can add to your booking: the Package, the Freedom Pack, the Serenity Pack and the All Inclusive. Each pack offers a range of services, such as a cleaning package (inside and out), a sailing package (unlimited or limited to 30 hours' sailing, depending on the pack), partial deposit redemption, cruise plus insurance, bike hire and a river guide. The pack available depends on your departure base, so check the list of your proposals in your customer area to find the one that matches your offer.

The river guide

To plan your cruise, there's nothing like the river guide specific to your cruising region. This essential tool will help you prepare your itinerary, explore the ports of call and discover the sites to visit. You can order this guide when you make your reservation. If you do not wish to order one, the base will lend you one for the duration of your stay.

Vehicle transfer service

If you're planning a one-way cruise, with different departure and arrival points, our vehicle transfer service could be of great interest to you. Imagine picking up your vehicle at the arrival base as if by magic at the end of your journey. In reality, your vehicle will be picked up by a member of the team at the base during the course of the week. If the vehicle transfer is not possible, we will give you the contact details of taxi partners. Please note that vehicle transfers are only possible for 4-wheel vehicles under 3.5T (some bases refuse trailers).

Pet supplement

Pets are welcome on board our boats for a supplement of €50 or €80, depending on the departure base. You can book this supplement in advance, but payment will be made on the spot.

When should I choose and pay for my extras?

You have the choice of paying for your extras in advance (when you pay the deposit or the balance) or pre-booking them and paying for them on site on the day of departure. Our advice is to book them in advance because if you choose to pay on site, the price is often slightly higher. There are also certain extras that can only be paid for in advance (such as the Package) or at the base on the day of departure (such as the animal supplement on certain bases).
