Globally known for its famous liqueur, Cognac is an ideal starting point in the middle of the Charente navigable. Go east to discover Angoulême or west to cross Saintes and if you have enough time, extend your cruise to Rochefort

There are not many locks. They are all manual and open on bank holidays.

It is strongly advised to moor only on the pontoons provided, as the level of the Charente is influenced by the tides, and the level may fall or rise by a few centimetres at night.

Mooring is only permitted in designated places and not in the countryside.

Fluvial marina composed of a captaincy serving as a reception with a large esplanade. Located in the heart of the city of Cognac, on the Hennessy docks.

LECLERC & AUCHAN (open from Monday to Saturday 8:30 - 20:30), between 3 and 10 minutes by car from the base

The locks on the Charente are manual (without lock keepers), hence the slightly sportier side of the cruise but also greater freedom of navigation: locks to maneuver yourself. It should be noted that the Charente may be subject to periods of flood or drought, making navigation impossible. In this case we reserve the right to offer you an alternative departure elsewhere in France
