Holidays on board a barge without a permit: what must you pack in your luggage?
Have you booked a river cruise for your summer vacation? On board a boat or a barge without a license? You were right! This mode of tourism is perfect to discover a region, its heritage, its landscapes, its culture and to travel smoothly. And if you do not need a license to navigate, you will be trained to navigate your boat before departure for 45 minutes, it is still necessary to prepare your luggage. Indeed, you will need business and some accessories to be perfect browsers! Do not worry, these are objects that we often have at home, or are not very expensive to buy. Essential items to navigate in great conditions
The first thing to take is undeniably flat shoes, with non-slip soles. This will prevent you from slipping and falling into the water. Nothing prevents you to put heeled shoes in your suitcase for the evening. But when you sail, you must be flat! It is also more convenient to move. In contrast, flip flops are not recommended.
Second must: a pair of slipping gloves for the passage of locks, to moor and block your boat or barge without a license. They will protect your hands. Especially since you can wear gardening gloves, you do not have to buy a specific pair.
Similarly, for your luggage, prefer a travel bag to a suitcase, which will be too bulky while a bag can bend and take up less space in the storage.
The accessories and business to enjoy the trip
In your bag, we also recommend you to slip a swimsuit. Whether you are at the helm, on the deck or on a spree, it will allow you to tan. Sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses are also needed to protect yourself and not to get sunburn or sunstroke. Also add a small backpack for excursions. So you'll put everything you need inside, without having to take your big travel bag during a stroll on the mainland. To keep good memories, do not forget your camera and charger (not to have battery problems). To keep busy while sailing, if you do not fly your boat or barge without a license, take some books or other entertainment (board games and cards for example), especially if you have children.
Finally, make sure you have your identity papers, a credit card and / or currency! And in case, it can still be used (even if you do not want it), a raincoat. If it rains during your trip, it will be very useful.
